The Ayoka Fellowship is an intercontinental Social Innovation Lab that will link young African and Spanish entrepreneurs and/or leaders. They will receive training in social entrepreneurship and social innovation to maximize the impact of their projects on their communities and also to be able to scale their projects to promote grassroot development and/or work towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
The second phase of the Ayoka Fellowship has now begun. In this phase, our young leaders will receive virtual training in entrepreneurship and innovation and will be able to reflect together with experts in their areas of work on how they could make a difference especially by having a focus on the Agenda 2063 and the SDGs.
This phase, which is called training and co-creation, started with the Global Frameworks for Social Change seminar on 14th February. We hosted two valuable speakers for this seminar with great pleasure. Daniel del Valle Blanco, the UN policy advisor for Youth and High Representative for Youth at the International Human Rights Foundation made a presentation on Sustainable Development Goals, which were adopted by the United Nations in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity, of the UNDP. He explained the fundamental principles of the 2030 agenda to our fellows in great detail and how important young people’s participation and empowerment are for this agenda.
Our second speaker, Numbuelo Mbozaki is the Executive Director at the Agenda 2063 Academy, a platform which engages African citizens and the Diaspora to be the main drivers and stakeholders of the implementation of Agenda 2063. She facilitates scalable projects, partnering with like-minded organizations or government entities that continually empower Africa’s citizens to be effective change-makers that Africa needs. In her presentation, she supplied Agenda 2063 and its progress and opportunities to our fellows. She also gave practical examples of how social entrepreneurs make Agenda 2063 a reality by giving information from different organizations
